Phua Juan Yong is an artist whose primary focus is image-making through 3D software. In recent years, his work has centered around pursuing the qualities of traditional paintings through digital means.

That fascination has since evolved into an exploration of the broader relationship between the physical and the digital, be it in presentation, experience and consumption. Phua first sculpts the elements in VR then paint over them digitally, before lighting and composing the image on 3D software. The works are made digitally and then translated using different methods such as silkscreens, acrylic on digital archival print, etc.

His works spans across projection mapping on National Gallery to featured works on Nowness Asia Picks, Mens Folio and Singapore Artweek.
